Equipment

Camera
A HD camera is essential for recording in the best quality in all weather and light, especially if it's dark or if your zooming in and out. There are a few different lens options available on the camera which enable different effects to be used, such as ToyCam and Fish-eye. Another advantage to having a digital camera is that it is easy to import the footage from the camera onto your computer and then edit the footage into a movie. You can also decide to take a screenshot first to test the lighting and proportion is right and if it's not easily adjust it.

Editing Software
A decent editing software is essential in creating a good and effective film. It makes the raw footage look a lot more professional looking and enables you to tweak certain effects or lighting issues in parts to make sure it all looks good and runs smoothly. It is also very quick and easy to use once you get the basics, however it does depend on what quality of software you use, for instance Windows Movie Maker which comes free with every windows computer therefore it wont be as good as an expensive editing software like Sony Vegas Pro, but still both have good and bad points like how easy Windows Movie Maker is as opposed to the more advanced and technical Sony Vegas, both of which will have a good range of effects and use of titles etc in order to create a good film but the range would be a lot larger if the software is very expensive. The footage can also be uploaded off the camera easily and quickly and then edited straight away.

Sound
Sound is a very important aspect to a film in that without sound the whole atmosphere of the film doesn't work, a film needs sound and in order to make a good film it needs high quality sound equipment, such as an external microphone detached from the camera itself. This will provide a much clearer and crisp sound quality. Another advantage to an external mic is that you are able to delete any unwanted or bad background sound such as wind or chatting. If your using a boom as well as an external microphone it enables you to get the microphone closer to the action without being seen in shot, which will make the sound much clearer, especially if there is dialog.

Tripod
The use of a Tripod is to make the footage look steadier and prevent unwanted shaking like when you use a handheld camera. The legs of the tripod are adjustable as well so you can alter the height of the camera to the shot type. With a tripod you can attach pretty much any camera, so it is good if you want to use your own camera on a borrowed tripod.

Props
The use of props in my film is essential to create an effective film and make it look reaslistic. Props are everything from mobile phones to cars, and even costumes. Props make the atmophere of the film realistic. The use of a suit on my character gives him a formal and powerful look. A characters costumes is key to determinig the role the character plays, if it's scruffy, the image painted by that character won't be a good or high profile one, on the other hand if the character is dresed smartly, the image painted would be a good one. the representation of a character can give away a lot through the use of props and this is an element I will use when making my film. Im going to use props such as a balaclava and a gun for the main character when he's robbing, and a mobile phone for the boss.

Human Resource Planning
The use of good actors in my film will help to create the correct atmosphere and give the right message i'm trying to portray. As actors I will be using My partner Ryan Boon as the main character who is in the problem scenario. I will be starring as the Boss and the manager of the loan shark business and my Dad will be the bouncer as well as my friend Cameron. Effective actors that play the correct role will make the film look a lot more professional.

Mis-en-scene
The characters clothing will be appropriate for the role he/she's playing. The costume the main character will be wearing will be scruffy and fairly unfashionable whereas the boss and the bouncer will be wearing suits and dressed formally. The location will be Beckington, where I live and will be set to begin with outside my house then in my barn or just a room inside. Then it will go to the room where the main character plans his robbery, or straight to the convenience store robbery.

Target Audience
My target audience is the age range of 15-25, and for a mainly male audience as there are male actors and that will mean they would have more common ground, also my thriller is more action based and less dialog driven so it would be more appealing to a male audience and not a female audience. In addition it is one of the few films I have made whilst doing media, therefore it will be appealing to people who want to see amateur film makers work and see how different people interprate the different genres, in my case a thriller. Furthermore the film is only a trailer and because of this it would be targeted at a younger audience, whereas if it was a full feature length movie the stereotypical age range would be older because it lets them get a bond with the characters and involved with the storyline.

Synopsis of Text
I am going to make a short beginning to a film around 2 minutes long and It’s target audience will be young adults around 15 to 30, mostly male. It will be mainly aimed at the male audience as it will be mainly male actors so there will be an instant connection and be more action driven rather that dialog driven. It will contain different shot types and angles that will compliment the genre and add to the effect. It will begin with a sped up shot of the road outside a house until night time, where a car ill pull up. A man gets out of the car and begins up the hill towards the old barn. The lights are flickering and the atmosphere is unsettling whilst the men converse. It will end with the man leaving in a rush back to his car and the final shot will be a wall covered in plans.
